Blue Ridge Electric Co-op hike

Nice long hike Sunday with the crew. These are pix from a wee detour we took about 1.5 miles in to see a fun hidden waterfall none of us knows the name of. Anyone coming to visit sometime this is another fairly nearby, pretty short hike with big scenery payoff and moderate energy outlay - definitely need hiking boots tho. I think to the falls and back out (rather than continuing along the ridge like our hike did) would be around 3.5-4 miles. Close to the falls it's kinda steep but the main in and out is relatively gentle. (Anyone besides me wonder if I'm incapable of ever using an adjective on its own without any additional moderation? Do you think it's because I don't want to commit myself to any descriptions someone might later question? Some kind of reluctance to state an opinion?...Hmmm... Anyone ever wonder if I'm no longer capable of doing a non-journaly blogpost?... or of avoiding meta-journal/blogging?... or slashes and hyphens?... or caffeine?...)

Lots of mysterious tree and rock critters lately on hikes - this is a petrified (and malnourished) Blue Ridge elephantosaurus.
