Much brighter, and in my more well-known area of Paris (could even frequent the same xerox shop guy as last year :) plus the street for the other one seemed kind of sketch... On verra.

Susan, both apartments seem real nice but I'll keep my fingers crossed for the second for you.
Of course, the goal is to be in the apartment as little as possible, right???
geography is probably more important, but i like the first one's "feel" and layout better. maybe it just looks bigger in pics. or i am not a fan of weird beams in the house : )

I know the best thing would be if I could have the interior of the first one in the locale of the second... but oh well - and yes definitely will not be there much - which really is further argument for the second since it's in the area more practical for some of the program stuff (tho really with the métro nearly anything is easy to get to in Paris anyway - but in the 5e I can still walk to Notre Dame :) even tho this apt is not right around the corner like last year's.
I talked to Miriam, my helper lady at Lodgis yesterday - she's still waiting to hear back from the second landlord to make sure it is available for my dates... gah!!!!! she is super nice and I'm all ready to turn in my paperwork as soon as she says it's a go.
I could kinda also do without the crazy green kitchen :)

tee hee - the nostalgia, Bill - my dad was colorblind, too - yeah you definitely are spared major pain re: that kitchen! the latest one is not much better, but at least it's brighter :) Allison! me too! sorry I got stuck email-wise! hope Colombia rocked! we'll have to figure out if we'll overlap in France at all - I'll be there 5/18-6/30 - I can't remem. where your post is - if you're coming thru Paris at all tho and I get the apt I'm trying for now please color yourself invited - at the very least hopefully we can go have dinner or something!
