Friday's Feast, v.1

Where on your body do you have a scar, and what caused it?

I have scars all over - one of the most interesting is the one that I can't explain on the underside of my left forearm. I fell when working at Sundance restaurant (a TGIF clone) in 1985 on the floor in the kitchen. Didn't fall on anything and no sharp things or gouge-y things were in sight but when I got up I had a HUNK of flesh GONE from my arm about the same mass as an unshelled peanut. It was quite freaky.

What is something that has happened to you that you would consider a miracle?

It is miraculous I did not die anytime Fall 94-Summer 95. Post divorce and post Mom's death - I was in a daze most of this period and on several occasions caught myself riding my bike thru red lights or stopsigns in Tucson.

Name a television personality who really gets on your nerves.

I don't watch TV except as a vid/DVD delivery system but I've seen enough of that Johnny Knoxville (sp?) guy in magazines and online to know he would drive me up the wall.

Main Course
What was a funny word you said as a child (such as "pasketti" for "spaghetti")?

I spoke kind of pathologically accurately when I was little. I even made huge complex multi-clause sentences at a surprisingly young age according to my mom. My brother got all the Dutch-ness (as it was referred to then) and probably the best example is his use of the word "doo-doo" for the trailer he and Mom and Dad lived in on base in, I think, San Antonio.

Fill in the blank: I have always thought ______ was ______.

I have always thought I was math-challenged but in the last few years I've come to believe that with the right instruction I would have kicked serious math ass.

what's even "scarier" is that you didn't find the chunk of flesh, either! : )
